Partnerships that put welfare and community first

My work sits at the intersection of science, stories, and systems, shaped by my anthrozoology studies (the study of human–animal relationships). That means I consider all species, and how their lives, choices, and stories connect.

Ways we can work together

Here’s how I collaborate with organisations, rescues and brands to make life better for dogs and people.

Education and program design

I design workshops and courses that are memorable, practical, and full of ‘ah-ha’ moments.

  • Supported Battersea Dogs & Cats Home (UK) volunteers to deliver dog welfare and safety education in schools, prisons and councils.

  • Ran public workshops with Laneway Learning (Australia) on understanding dog body language.

  • Co-created online courses including Reach More Paws (5-week business coaching with guest speakers), From Track to Couch (3-week greyhound course with trainers Pennie Clayton and Steph Rousseau), and Puppies Unleashed (6-week filmed puppy course with trainer Winkie Spiers).

Operations and systems

I help organisations streamline how they work so welfare stays front and centre.

  • Recruited, trained and supported 1,000+ volunteers at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home (UK), embedding consistent, welfare-first practice.

  • Helped Bone Rangers (UK), a busy London dog walking business, design protocols so walkers could reinforce client behaviour plans seamlessly.

Storytelling and communications

I help organisations tell their stories clearly, creatively and persuasively.

  • Written for Dogs Today Magazine, Australian Dog Lover, BHARCS, Our Good Brands and more.

  • In-house writer for dogbiz, creating client websites, newsletters, campaigns and long-form articles.

  • Freelance copywriter and web designer for small businesses including dog trainers, organisations and boutique pet stores.

  • Experienced in podcasting and interviews: co-host of Dog Tails, guest on A Dog’s Pace and Talking Apartments, and featured in conversations with Smiling Leash and Nosing Around UK.

  • Interviewed leading voices including Marc Bekoff, bringing science and storytelling to wider audiences.

Events

I bring people together through events that are engaging, well-run and memorable, from local gatherings to global summits.

  • Organised and hosted the first-ever PDTE Online Summit, a sold-out international event with keynote speakers including Jane Goodall, Marc Bekoff, Amber Batson and Sindhoor Pangal.

  • Presenter at London’s Vauxhall Park Dog Show and Stockwell Festival. Judging “waggiest tail,” was harder than it sounds (seriously, stiff competition).

Mentoring and advisory

I support trainers and organisations to grow with confidence and clarity.

  • Mentored trainers across Europe, Asia and Australia to build skills and sustainable businesses.

  • Served on the board of the Pet Dog Trainers of Europe, advising on comms and growth strategy

Why work with me

I bring together academic insight with years of hands-on work with dogs and people. That mix bridges the gap between research and real life, shaping ideas, systems, and stories that stick.

I’m also an experienced, tech-savvy project manager who is unfazed by the tools and platforms that make others want to throw their laptop out the window.

  • "Seriously what a fabulous, uplifting feast you have prepared for us. You are a very talented and bright star and we are so lucky to have you. Your diligence and thoughtfulness, not to mention superb technology and interviewing skills, are hope for a better future. Thank you so very much for your very hard work."

    Arletta, PDTE Online Summit participant

  • "I thoroughly enjoyed this course. It was exactly what I needed. A chance to connect with like-minded people at different stages of their dog training journey. This course is clear, informative and opened my mind to the different tools I can use to help my business. Harriet is a great coach!"

    Sam, Reach More Paws participant

  • "Thank you Harriet! It’s been a golden experience! I’m a bit sad that it’s over but incredibly energised by the wisdom offered to us."

    Manuela, PDTE Online Summit participant

  • "Thank you for an engaging and thought-provoking experience. I would not hesitate to recommend to others and I just wish I had been able to access it at the start of my own journey living with, caring for, and advocating for these dogs."
